Bonding over ice cream(Violet and Nathan only)

Violet sighed. She just want to enjoy this year, intead of juggling prefect duties with her school work, and worrying about the headmistress and how Hogwarts might change. Maybe for the worst.

"She seems mature enough, she doesnt act a student." Violet chose her words carefully, not wanting anything to slip. "But I havent really chatted with her enough for me to assume that I guess." Violet shrugged.

"So perhaps it wont be too bad of a year" Nathan said and smiled. "If anything, I think this year will be an interesting one" he said.

"For sure." Violet agreed. Violet played with the remains of her ice cream. She was thinking about only one thing, and she didnt know how to respond it it. Even in her own head.

Violet was a million miles away from the conversation, her eyes sliding in and out of focus.

Nathan nodded and looked at her. She looked like she was in her own world.
"Are you okay?" he asked her.

Violet snapped out of her thoughts. "I just get really lost in my thoughts." Violet smiled, and played with her hair until the conversation resumed.

"You looked pretty zoned out, what were you thinking?" Nathan asked with interest. He was curious as to what made her like that but realized he was being rude. "If it's not too personal of course" he said and smiled.

Violet blushed. "Its not personal, no, but..." Violet sighed. She was thinking of how Stella had mentined that she and Nathan should be a couple. Violet had argued age, but Stella argued back that it didnt matter.

"Its just something Stella said about the two of us." Violet blushed harder, and continued to play with her hair, to keep herself busy.

Nathan listened to her yet he didn't understand why she was blushing so much.
So it was something Stella had said which was making her blush.How odd... he thought to himself before nodding.
"What did she say?" he asked with interest.

Violet gave up on telling herself to stop blushing. She saighed, and continued with the same breath, she said as fast as she could "She thinks we should be a couple." Violet clapped her hands over her mouth, but the deed was done. Violet groaned, and buried her face in her arms.

Nathan had only just understood what Violet had told him. He didn't know Stella that well yet it was no surprise that she would have said something like that.
"Well, you are pretty" he shrugged. Looking at her after she said it, he chuckled.
"Thanks, would it be that gross to date?" he said, still chuckling and watched her.

Violet looked up, and sighed. "No... It wouldnt." Violet told Nathan, choosing her words carefully. "I just didnt know how you would respond." She shrugged.

Violet felt her cheeks grow warmer when Nathan called her pretty. Violet was positive that her face looked like tomato with eyes.

"No need to worry about it" Nathan smiled. He didn't see how it could have been so bad. Violet was embarrassed easily so it was actually possible for that too make her blush.
He saw how much she was blushing and found it amusing.

"I probably look ridiculus right now." Violet laughed at herself, but also cursed herself for being easily embarassed.

"You look very red" Nathan nodded. "You shouldn't be embarrassed about what Stella said to you" he said reassuringly. He was curious as to how the young Slytherin-to-be would think that.

"Im not embarassed about that at all." Violet told him. She didnt finish her train of thought, she sighed. Its just that thats exactly what I want. She thought it instead.

"Good to hear" Nathan grinned yet he didn't understand why she was blushing if it wasn't embarrassing. He looked down at his small puddle of ice cream and back up. "I'm going to get some more" he said and stood up.
"Who knows, Stella might be right" he said and winked in a joking manner.

"Stella hasnt been wrong before." Violet joked back.

Violet watched Nathan get up, and allowed herself to attempt to calm down and collect her thoughts.

Nathan chuckled and purchased another vanilla ice cream. "She will properly be right about her sorting and breaking the bug rule so she may be right about other things" he shrugged and sat down then eating some of his ice cream.

Violet noticed that Nathan got vanilla ice cream. Vanilla is her favorite smell, and more times than not thats what people tell her that she smells like. "I love the smell of vanilla." Violet said, absentmindedly.

Violet snapped out of her thoughts. "Maybe she will be right about other things." Violet shrugged, she couldnt see into the future. What did Violet know?

"We have that in common then" Nathan said while he ate. He looked at her and smiled as he thought. Perhaps this year was going to be interesting in more ways then one.
"Perhaps a lot of things will be different this year" he said in thought. "I just hope there will be some new faces in Gryffindor" he added.

"Do we now?" Violet wondered aloud. This year is going to be interesting, thats for sure. Violet smiled at the thought.

"I agree, but Id like to see some new Hufflepuffs in the common room." Violet replied. "I only know of ONE first year that actually wants to be in Hufflepuff." She added, thinking of Theresa.

"We do" Nathan nodded and looked at Violet.
"Only one?" he asked with interest. He would have thought that more people would want to be in Hufflepuff. "Maybe it's because Gryffindor is better" he said in a joking manner.

"You didnt just say that." Violet pretended to be hurt. "You know why Hufflepuff is better? Because Im in it." She said teasingly, and winked.

I need to be more observant. Violet thought. She didnt realize how many things she and Nathan had in common until he said it.

"Or does the fact that you are in that particular house make the first years not want to go into it" Nathan said in a joking manner.
"I would have liked to go into Hufflepuff if I had known you were in it actually" he said and he meant it. He had a lot of fun when he was with her.

Violet thought about that for a second. "That could be it." Violet jokingly agreed. "They are just afraid that Im cooler than them." Violet rolled her eyes, laughing.

"Im glad to hear that." Violet let the subject drop. Does Nathan like me? Violet didnt know, she couldnt tell. It was fun hanging out with Nathan though.
